You are, of course, welcome to pay more than the amount listed by entering any amount in the open field at the end of the list. We appreciate your generosity!

Volunteer/Board member benefits

Thank you so much for volunteering for the 2019 JRW Conference and/or your work as a JRW Board Member. We couldn't do it without you!  Volunteer responsibilities use a tier system for earning conference discounts.

Each volunteer job description has a Tier 1, Tier 2, or Tier 3 designation, as defined below:

  • Tier 1 - major conference planning and coordinating responsibilities = free conference registration
  • Tier 2/JRW Board Members - significant responsibilities of 20 hours or more, which often involves managing other volunteers = conference registration at the meals rate of $60
  • Tier 3 - volunteer responsibilities of at least 10 hours (can be a combination of roles) = 50% off the early-bird rate of $250 ($125)
  • Tier 4 - volunteer responsibilities of more than 5 and less than 10 hours – 20% of early bird rate of $250 ($200)

If you are not certain of the benefits accrued by your conference-related volunteer activities, please contact Annette at

Select the applicable rate based on the tier level that corresponds to your role. You are, of course, welcome to pay more than the amount listed by entering any amount in the open field at the end of the list. We appreciate your generosity!

Thank you again for your contributions to the conference!

If you are attending on only one day, will you be attending on Saturday or Sunday?

Please submit a copy of current-year transcript, your student ID, or a letter from your school's office verifying that you are (will be) a full-time student at the time of the conference in October 2019.
Pre-conference Master Classes

Master Classes are offered on Friday, Oct 11, 2019, in three time-slots. You can register for up to three Master Classes. Master Classes are not included in your conference registration (unless you are an All-Inclusive member) and do not include lunch. For details, see Master Class Descriptions. Whether or not you can attend the conference, we invite you to become a conference sponsor or supporter. New this year, for $500 you can sponsor a breakout session with your book. For a $250 donation, you can sponsor a student or teacher's attendance at the conference with a conference scholarship. For a $100 gift, you can become a Friend of Literature.

Tote Bag Stuffing - Do you have a stash of bookmarks, postcards, or flyers trumpeting a literary achievement or a service related to writing or reading? Send us 400 of your items, and we'll put one in each conference tote bag. Check the box to pay a $100 stuffing fee, and a volunteer will contact you to make delivery arrangements. Please, no business cards. Items must be received by October 3.

Dietary and accessibility needs

On both days of the conference, we will be serving a buffet lunch that includes options for vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free diets. If you have a dietary restriction that you do not think can be met in these selections, please make your own arrangements.

If you have accessibility needs, please provide us with this information at least one month prior to the conference. Thank you.

Select all that apply. (Our apologies, after 4:30 pm, October 7, we no longer have time to special order Halal or Kosher meals. If you ordered one before this time, we will supply it.)

Please tell us your accessibility needs for which you might need accommodation.
