You can use this form to register for one day or two days of the in-person 21st annual James River Writers Conference taking place in Richmond, Virginia, October 7 & 8, 2023, and/or to register for online pre-conference Master Classes, Friday, October 6, 2023. Pre-conference Master Classes - ONLINE

Master Classes on Friday, October 6, 2023, are priced individually and are not included in your conference registration (unless you are an All-inclusive member).

You may purchase Master Classes even if you are not able to attend the in-person conference..

Pre-conference Master Class - Special IN-PERSON Class

This one Master Class is offered in-person on Friday, October 6, 2023, in one of Richmond's area parks (more soon!).

Registration - In-person Conference at the Greater Richmond Convention Center
  • Rates include boxed lunches and light breakfast foods.
  • The student rate only applies to students who are full-time high school students or enrolled in an accredited college or university as full-time students at the time of the conference in October 2023. Proof of enrollment is requested, below.

Volunteer Tickets

Thank you so much for volunteering for the 2023 Conference. We couldn't do it without you!

Volunteer hours have a Tier 1, Tier 2, or Tier 3 designation, as defined below:

  • Tier 1 - 20 hours or more, $150 off
  • Tier 2 - at least 10 hours, $100 off
  • Tier 3 - between 5-10 hours, $50 off

Select the applicable rate based on the tier level that corresponds to your role. You are, of course, welcome to pay more than the amount listed by entering any amount in the open field. We appreciate your generosity!

Please submit a copy of your current-year transcript, your student ID, or a letter from your school's office verifying that you will be a full-time student at the time of the conference in October 2023.
One-on-one Meeting with a Literary Agent (Optional/No additional cost)

One meeting with an agent is included with each one- or two-day conference ticket. You must be attending the conference in person on October 7 or 8, 2023, to have an agent appointment. Please review the agents' bios on the One-on-Ones page to find the right fit. Each attendee may only have one meeting with an agent.

Dietary and accessibility needs

On both days of the conference, we will be serving boxed lunches that include options for vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free diets. Please let us know, below, if you would like us to reserve one of these options for you.
