Just ask Nathan. When the 9-year-old opened and read a simple handwritten message of encouragement last year, he was beaming. “Somebody wrote this for me?” he asked. He then tucked the note in his pocket so mom could see it.

Hundreds of kids like Nathan come to a Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Ohio site on an average day.

Even in normal times, the start of the school year can be a scary time for young people.

You can do something about that.

Help us give a handwritten note of encouragement to all Club members as they head back to school this year.

Regardless of the format you choose, use your notecard to write a short, positive back-to-school message to a Club member. It can be as simple as a good-luck wish or as complex as sharing an inspiring personal story or quote.
