Amber Educations Fund's mission is to support the Amber Charter Schools and other organizations that improve circumstances for underserved children and their families. Started in 2000, the Amber Charter Schools is New York State’s first Latino-led public charter school network. Specializing in robust academics, Amber’s students regularly outperform their peers city and state-wide in both math and reading. Amber is focused on serving the community and preparing students for a global economy by teaching Spanish to all. Amber students are well-rounded, with programming including character development, after-school programs, art, music, and technology. Amber currently serves elementary grades and this year will begin serving middle schoolers. As Amber prepares students to attend the best high schools in New York, Amber locations include several neighborhoods including East Harlem, Kingsbridge in the Bronx, and Inwood.
