Shitty First Drafts: How to Mine First Drafts for Gold

Anne Lamott says in an essay, "Shitty First Drafts," from her book Bird by Bird that "good writers write shitty first drafts," and writing that lousy first draft is only way you can get anything written at all. In this workshop, we will read selections from Lamott's text to learn craft then workshop our first drafts to mine for the gold Lamott promises is there.
