Shop Safety Assistance
An important part of our vision for the Saratoga Joinery is to help newcomers to woodworking develop the skills to feel confident in our shop. In order for our members to feel confident, safety is of utmost importance. We're asking for the community's help to create this safe and inclusive environment.
We need help creating and refiining our
Machine Certification
classes. These classes will be mandatory for all members of Saratoga Joinery.
We need people to
teach
the Machine Certification classes to a maximum of four people each class. We will have 'beginner' level classes as well as 'advanced' level classes.
We need
Shop Stewards
to serve as a set of eyes and hands in the shop to help ensure people are using the machines properly, answer questions about technique and operation, and make sure people and the environment are safe.
