One moment please...

High Holidays 5784/2023 With Kadima

Our services will again be hybrid, including a Zoom option for those who can’t or don’t choose to attend in person, as well as an on-site option at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in the Central District.

We will continue to offer online and onsite options, in a commitment to our Disability Justice values to NEVER GO BACK to "the way things were". We are mindful that the health and well-being of everyone is the responsibility of each of us, that Long Covid/long term complications due to COVID are common, and that there have always been people in our community who have chronic illness and/or are more vulnerable to complications from illness.

COVID/Communal Health Policy for the High Holidays:
1. For indoor events, participants over age three will be required to wear a tested, certified mask while indoors, and give each other distance as able.

2. For visual and audio accessibility, speakers will remove their mask while speaking from the bimah. There will be a small air purifier at the bimah to make this as safe as possible.

3. We will not be checking vaccination status this year, but *please be vaccinated* to the extent that is available to you.

4. Only attend onsite if you are completely free of any new symptoms (that are not part of your daily life).

Childcare will be available beginning 1/2 hour before the start of services on Rosh Hashanah morning and Yom Kippur morning. Unfortunately, we are not able to offer childcare for the evening services.

Kadima will be providing captions and live tech support for the online options, a fully ADA accessible venue, low scent environment, and some sensory accommodations. Please, make your needs known here if you need any additional accommodations to access the High Holidays fully!

High Holiday Doer/Volunteer Support

Readers

We still have some open slots for readers (in English) for our High Holidays services.
...you are the door of Kadima and a friendly greeter smiles and invites you to offer a reading in English during our services. What do you do?
Would you like to be on the Doer Crew? Roles include: registration, welcoming, set up, break down, online support, onsite tech support, pre-HH admin support, accessibility station attendant, errands, and childcare assistance.

Tickets are free. However, donations are greatly appreciated!

We are grateful you are joining us! For transparency, we are budgeted to bring in $25,000 through contributions during the High Holiday season. With 275 expected adult participants, we would meet this year’s goal if we averaged a $90 contribution per attendee. We expect that some cannot contribute anywhere near that and others could contribute that amount many times. Please give what you are able in order to offset the costs of producing High Holidays and support the work of Kadima generally.
