Propagating Under Lights Workshop 2024

Saturday, February 24 from 10:00-11:30am

Native Gardens of Blue Hill at Bagaduce Music

49 South St, Blue Hill

Led by Karl Holmes, this session will explore seed sowing and propagating by cuttings—both native and non-native perennials and annuals. Karl will discuss affordable lighting options, container types, sowing in individual cells vs. flats, commercially available soil mixes, whether to use a heat lamp, and how to keep your plants growing. There will be ample opportunities for questions and a hands-on component for those interested. You will leave the session with many tips and suggestions to get started immediately, given a few tools.

From the Arnold Arboretum to the finest gardens on MDI, Karl Holmes has been involved in horticulture on many different levels. With years of professional greenhouse experience, Karl has honed his own home-based skills and offers tips and secrets from his 40 years gardening to help you grow your own plants and broaden your gardening experience.

Workshop fee: $20. Email info@ngbh.org if fee is cost prohibitive. Space is limited, and pre-registration is required.
