Bios of the Panelists:
Christopher Janousek, Assistant Professor (Senior Research) at OSU. A coastal ecologists whose research is focused on climate change impacts to wetlands & wetlands restoration in CA & Pacific NW, coastal blue carbon and the ecology and natural history of seaweeds. Professor Janousek teaches biology, plant biology, and phycology at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
Craig Cornu, Principal Scientist with the South Slough National Estuarine Research Reserve. Craig has over 20 years' experience leading estuarine wetlands restoration project design, management and effectiveness monitoring at sites in the 5,000 acre reserve. He has served as advisor on numerous estuarine wetland restoration and effectiveness monitoring projects in OR & WA.
Katrina Poppe is a wetland ecologist focused on coastal wetlands. She has been involved in a number of blue carbon projects to determine carbon stocks and sequestration rates in marshes, swamps and seagrasses of the Pacific NW as well as mangroves in the United Arab Emirates. She is also involved in monitoring and modeling vegetation and sediment dynamics in relation to estuary restoration.
