CH Mitchell S. Ackerson was commissioned as a Chaplain and reported for duty in June 1986. Among other accomplishments, he deployed to Saudi Arabia for Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm, as well as Operation Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom. His final assignment was as the Command Chaplain of the Pacific Division in Camp Parks, California.
In his civilian life, CH Ackerson is the Director of Pastoral Care of the Lifebridge Health System. He previously served as the Rabbi of congregations in Chattanooga, TN, and Bridgeport, CT as well as a high school history teacher at Beth Tfiloh High School.
CH Ackerson and his wife made Aliyah in August of 2018 and reside in Modiin, Israel.
