Amplify Community Engineer Application
Amplify is a professional recording studio located inside of Nuçi’s Space, a musicians’ resource and mental health nonprofit in Athens GA. The focus of Amplify's Community Engineer Program is to create a network of engineers and artists. We provide the opportunity to creatives in our community to work in a professional and welcoming studio environment at an affordable price. Community engineers can rent out our studio space to record their own clients, while being a part of a network that includes Amplify customers and other engineers. Through our application process, we will review candidates interested in becoming Nuçi’s Space-approved Community Engineers. Once reviews are complete, the engineer will be invited to an in-person studio orientation, held monthly or on an as-needed basis. We hope that the musicians and engineers who help us build this program will become the storytellers and teachers planting the seeds for healthy communities in Athens, GA and beyond. For more information about Amplify studio, please visit www.nuci.org/amplify or email us at amplify@nuci.org.

Vision, Mission and Values
Our vision is to end the epidemic of suicide and to inspire a culture free of the stigma attached to brain illnesses and its sufferers by supporting a community-wide effort that focuses on education, prevention and access to appropriate treatment. Our mission is to prevent suicide. With a focus on musicians, Nuçi’s Space advocates for and helps to alleviate the suffering for those living with a brain illness and fights to end the stigma of mental illness. To accomplish our mission, Nuçi’s Space maintains a health and resource center for musicians as a safe space to seek support and guidance, provides access to affordable, obstacle-free professional care, actively participates in treatment and educates about awareness, prevention and the risk factors of brain illnesses. Brain illness and suicide do not discriminate. They permeate through the lives of all who are touched and those who care for them, regardless of affiliation. Nuçi’s Space exists to create a safe space for everyone. Discrimination of any kind toward a person or people based on their belonging to a particular group is anathema to all that we hold dear. We value the role of education and personal growth within our team to adopt anti-biased practices. Nuçi’s Space, and all those who represent the organization, champion a culture of kindness and support to all in our community and maintain the highest standards of caring in all that we do through: Nurturing | Understanding | Compassion | Insight.
I have read the Vision, Mission and Values and agree to representing them while engineering in Amplify

Studio Policies:
Please review the following policies for using the Amplify Studio at Nuçi’s Space. While engineering out of Amplify, you are representing our organization and mission. All are welcome and all are expected to treat staff, equipment, and each other with respect and kindness.
Hours of Operation and Pricing:
Amplify is open from 12pm to 10pm daily. Recording sessions are booked in 4 hour blocks 12 - 4pm and 6pm to 10pm. There are two hours built in between each session to allow Nuçi’s Staff to studio prep and cleaning. When reserving consecutive blocks, the changeover time is included at no additional cost 12pm - 10pm: 12pm - 4pm = $80: 6pm - 10pm = $80: 12pm - 10pm = $160: Session blocks include set up and break down time. Please plan accordingly to leave enough time to return the studio to “normal” state (any messes cleaned, all gear returned to homes, etc). If multiple days are booked in a row, studio may be left unnormalized and outside gear may stay overnight. Nuçi’s Space is not responsible for any lost or stolen items and the Community Engineer is responsible for ensuring the studio is locked at the end of night.

Reservations can be modified or canceled until 48 hrs hours prior to reservation. Any deposit for no–shows or cancellations with less than 48 hr notice will not be returned. Engineers who regularly no-show or cancel with improper notice may have studio privileges revoked. Reservations must be made with 48 hr notice. No studio reservations will be taken day-of. All reservations must be made with an Amplify approved engineer. Sessions without an approved engineer will not be accepted. For more information on booking the studio for your band, email Amplify@nuci.org for help finding an engineer. If the studio is left in poor condition, or the engineer loads out late, they may be charged an extra hourly fee for additional staff resources/time used.

Damaged or Lost Equipment:
Please alert Nuçi’s staff at the beginning of your session if you discover any lost, damaged, or malfunctioning equipment in the studio. In the event that equipment is lost or damaged during a recording session, the session’s engineer may be held responsible for repair or replacement. We understand that accidents happen but in some situations it will be necessary to bill a client or engineer for equipment damaged. We repeat: Please proactively bring up issues or malfunctioning equipment to us immediately so that you may not be held liable for something that's not your fault.
I have read the Damaged or Lost Equipment Policy and agree to its terms

Loading In and Out:
The load in time for all sessions is right at the time that the reservation begins. Be sure to build adequate load in/set up time into your reservation plans. Early load in may be possible at staff discretion at the beginning of reservation if cleared beforehand. Load out needs to be complete at the time the reservation ends. Engineers are responsible for making sure the entire party is packed up and out of Amplify by the session’s end time. This includes returning the room to its normal state (returning gear to its home and consolidating gear that doesn’t live in the studio), cleaning any messes, and copying any session files. Feel free to ask staff if you have any questions on returning the studio to a normal state.
I have read the Loading In and Out Policy and agree to its terms
