Policy and Agreements

Liability Waiver *

I agree that I, and those in my party, are participating in Pasadena Audubon volunteering opportunities at my own risk, and acknowledge that Pasadena Audubon has made no warranty or representation, expressed or implied, regarding the safety of conducting the program. I expressly release and hold harmless Pasadena Audubon and its officers, directors, employees, agents, licensees, successors and assigns from and for any and all claims, demands, actions and causes of action whatsoever for any loss, damage or injury to person or to property suffered or incurred by me or those in my party in connection with volunteering opportunities or any aspect of it. This release shall be binding upon me and my heirs, next of kin, executors, administrators and assigns.

I have thoroughly read and understand this form and the statements I have made are true.

Image Release *

I grant and convey to Pasadena Audubon Society (PAS) and its representatives, licensees and assignees, all of my right, title and interests in any and all photographs, images, videos or audio recordings of myself and those in my party made by Pasadena Audubon Society, a Pasadena Audubon Society volunteer, local media agencies or an observer of the PAS volunteering activities, in connection with my participation in the PAS volunteering activities. Photos may be used to promote the Pasadena Audubon volunteering activities through club media, newsletter, website, and social media. ***No one will be excluded if they do not wish to agree to this image release.***

I agree to the terms and conditions of the image release.

I hereby decline to consent to the image release terms and conditions. I acknowledge and understand that it is solely my responsibility to communicate my preference to refrain from being photographed or recorded, along with any individuals in my group, to the designated staff or person in charge of my participation activities.

Pasadena Audubon Society does not discriminate against any person on the basis of race, color, national origin, disability, or age (and any other bases you wish to include) in admission, treatment, or participation in its programs, services and activities, or in employment, or on the basis of sex in its health programs and activities. Staff/Volunteer Code of Conduct

Pasadena Audubon Society requires that participants conduct themselves in a safe and respectful manner to help maintain a fun and comfortable environment throughout the program/event.

The Code of Conduct is intended to help provide a positive experience for all and applies to the duration of any Pasadena Audubon Society event. All event participants, including staff, instructors, and volunteers, must read and adhere to the Code of Conduct.

All participants must:

Treat each other with respect and consideration. All forms of harassment are prohibited. Harassment is any conduct that a person feels interferes with work and learning or creates an offensive environment. This includes but is not limited to the following: obscene gestures, physical contact, use of profanity, display or circulation of written materials or pictures derogatory to gender, race, color, religion, creed, sexual orientation, national origin, ancestry, age, disability, political beliefs, appearance or ethnicity.

Not physically, verbally, sexually, or mentally abuse or neglect anyone. Abuse or neglect of any type will not be tolerated and is cause for immediate dismissal.

Be in control of your own body and equipment throughout activity. It is your responsibility to stop or avoid people or objects and obey posted signs and warnings for closed areas.

Report any practice or situation that endangers the health, safety, or well-being of yourself, employees, contractors, volunteers, sponsors, and program participants. You have an ethical responsibility to inform one of the following people: Jamie Cho or Jared Nigro.

Not be under the influence of any substance that impairs their ability to participate in activities.

Not smoke or use tobacco products of any type, including e-cigarettes, at program/event activities.

Secure personal effects, including valuables and medications. Pasadena Audubon Society is not responsible for any personal effects. Keep all event areas neat and clean, and be respectful of other people’s property.

Not use or possess alcohol if under the age of 21.

Please let Pasadena Audubon Society staff know if you observe anyone not following the Code of Conduct. Failure to comply with the expectations and requirements outlined in this document will result in the immediate removal of the participant from the current Pasadena Audubon Society activity, program, or event. Furthermore, the participant may be prohibited from participating in any future Pasadena Audubon Society activities.
