2019 Nature Talk: How to Inspire Others

Nature Talk: How to Inspire Others

Sometimes talking about the value of nature just doesn’t come naturally! Learn the tools to inspire others to become an advocate for our local natural communities. The workshop will be both indoors and outdoors, starting with a presentation at the Woodstock Library, and then will conclude with a short drive over to Ryder’s Woods for the outdoor portion. Whether you’re an experienced teacher, science professional, volunteer, site steward, or an interested member of the public, join TLC’s ecologist and educator to learn some techniques on how to:

  • Talk to your friends and neighbors about native plants and pollinators (great for folks with Conservation@Home signs in your yards!)
  • Engage new volunteers at a restoration workday (great for natural area volunteers!)
  • Lead nature hikes for TLC (it’s more than just spouting facts!)

Date: Sunday, February 3rd

Time: 1:30-3:30 p.m.

Location: Meet at the Woodstock Public Library (414 W. Judd St) for indoor portion, followed by outdoor portion at Ryder’s Woods (750 Kimball Ave, Woodstock)

Fee: Free
