To launch the Black Trans Liberation Kitchen Campaign, we are initiating a month-long fundraising initiative for June to build resources for this innovative and collaborative food justice program to nourish and empower our beautiful trans communities here in NYC.

Black Trans Liberation is joining the food sovereignty work FIG and TRANSgrediendo have been cultivating for the past two years in Jackson Heights. BTL believes in the preservation of TGNC community and understands that healthy, sustainable meals are essential for vitality. Centering family meals builds wellness and strengthens the community against the systemic oppression they face. Black Trans Liberation recognizes the importance of investing in Food Justice. It is innately linked to our liberation. If we grow and provide nourishment
for our people we teach them how to take steps towards a balanced life.
The Black Trans Liberation Kitchen Initiative offers the opportunity to feed our people, one meal at a time. TRANSgrediendo and FIG are dedicated partners for Food Justice!
Where your money goes:
•Groceries from local, sustainable farm partners
•Weekly delivery of family-style shared meals
•Mobile Teaching Kitchen thats equipped for cooking workshops
•Survival workshops on healthful + economical cooking and reclaiming cultures through recipes
•Transportation for community work days at partner farms
•Language justice (Ex: Fees for interpreters, interpretation equipment, translation of informational materials)
