Land use law plays a key role in protecting the Chesapeake Bay by reducing the unchecked development (or "sprawl") that destroys native habitat and pollutes the Bay. Chesapeake Legal Alliance receives hundreds of requests for pro bono assistance for land use cases across the watershed. According to many of our volunteer attorneys, they would offer their services pro bono but have little or no experience in the field or simply don't know where to start.
