Breaking the Silence

Breaking the Silence - Anthology Launch Party

This Friday, April 9, 2021, Literary Cleveland will publish a new online anthology called "Breaking the Silence: Queer Self, Life, and Love in Northeast Ohio." The anthology features original poems and essays by 14 local writers and highlights the wealth of perspectives in the queer and trans community of Greater Cleveland.

"Breaking the Silence" was created by Literary Cleveland intern and Oberlin student Alexander Saint Franqui as part of Literary Cleveland's new Amplify Projects series, which is designed to empower, uplift, and celebrate communities by giving them the platform to tell their own stories on their own terms.

Join us for a virtual launch party and reading to celebrate the completion of the anthology and allow writers to share their stories with the wider community.

This event is presented in partnership with The Buckeye Flame, The Cleveland Street Chronicle, GLSEN Northeast Ohio, and TransFamily Cleveland.

Details: Friday, April 9 at 7pm remotely through Zoom. Register and we will send along information about how to connect via Zoom. All you need is a good internet connection and a computer or smartphone with a camera and microphone. Not sure if your system is compatible? Just click here
