Several schools in Champaign/Urbana fully participate in Bike to School Day and plan a special welcome to students to who ride bicycle to school.  SRTS and CCB volunteers will be at several of these schools to welcome kids riding their bikes.

An opportunity to donate to the Kickapoo Rail Trail.

All during CU Bike Month 2015, Champaign County Bikes is raising funds and awareness for the Kickapoo Rail Trail (KRT), a 24.5 mile bike trail that will be built between Champaign/Urbana and Danville with a stop at Kickapoo State Park.  This year we have a special "KRT themed" t-shirts for all registered kids, so they can help us spread the the news about the Kickapoo Rail Trail.

Note:  A donation to the Kickapoo Rail Trail is not required for a child to obtain our KRT/CU Bike Month 2015 t-shirt.  But we hope some families will make a contribution, as the Kickapoo Rail Trail will be a fun, safe place for kids and their families to go for a bicycle ride together.

Our suggested donation is $24.50, which works out to $1 / mile of the Kickapoo Rail Trail.  Choose what works for you, and be generous if you can.  (This is a tax deductable gift, receipts will be auto generated.)

Thanks!

Champaign County Bikes would like to offer you a free 6 month CCB membership so that you can receive our occasional newsletter with news about what is happening in the local bike community this summer and fall.
