April 28 | 8-9pm |On Zoom

The second in a series of discussions on resources for families with a child with special needs.

Education attorney Alexandra Rosenblatt of the Law Offices of Mark B. Martin will help you understand what you need to know and what the school system’s obligations are to meet your child’s educational needs under the IDEA in the school building and during COVID.   Ms. Rosenblatt will share ways to effectively advocate for your child, how to determine if your child is making appropriate progress, and the role of advocates and attorneys in the IEP process.

Alexandra Rosenblatt is an attorney at the Law Offices of Mark. B. Martin, P.A. where she represents clients in the areas of special education, school discipline, guardianship, and other education related disputes throughout Maryland.  She represents families at IEP meetings and administrative hearings.  Prior to joining the Law Offices of Mark B. Martin, P.A., Ms. Rosenblatt worked at the Public Justice Center doing federal and state impact litigation and legislative advocacy.  In 2012, Alexandra’s daughter was born with Down syndrome.  Since then, she has been her daughter’s fiercest advocate, immersing herself in special education and disability law.   She also created a group for Baltimore City parents with children receiving special education services.
