Mastering the Basics of Storytelling

Have a story to tell? This class will help you get started. Explore the writing process and ways of developing a daily habit as well as craft techniques such as setting, character, plot, conflict, and theme. What are you waiting for? Note: This class is specifically for those who have served in the United States Armed Forces or military.

Instructor: DL Ware is a community based poet and writer, a literacy advocate and literary artist in Southeast Cleveland’s Buckeye, Woodland Hills, and Mt. Pleasant neighborhoods. He has a Masters of English with a concentration in poetry from CSU. Since 2010, D.L. Ware has used his love for the literary arts as means to bring communities together.  In 2018 D.L. developed and led a weekly creative writing workshop called “Veterans’ Voices,” a 9-week creative writing workshop designed to encourage and support US Military Veterans to write and share their military experiences as a community. Husband and father of 3 boys, D.L. finds the act of writing to be healthy and therapeutic and makes time to write daily.
 
Details: Mastering the Basics of Storytelling with DL Ware is a four-week course which takes place Thursdays Oct. 1, 8, 15, 22 from 2-3:30pm remotely through Zoom. Register and we will send along information about how to connect via Zoom.
