In this 90-minute intergenerational program, teens (ages 12–15) and family members experience how to have deeper and more meaningful family conversations. Together they identify significant events in their lives and learn to ask open-ended questions that can cultivate stronger emotional connections in their family.
The 8-page guide includes:
- Materials, room setup, and timing
- How to tell a personal story
- Steps for a “River of Life” activity in which participants list events of meaning to them
- Exploration of the feelings associated with the events
- How participants can ask questions of each other
- Jewish storyteller Peninnah Schram’s prayer
- Email to send out in advance
