Open Call for 2024 Gallery Exhibitions

This public open call invites artists, organizers, curators, and collaborators to propose exhibitions for Waterloo Arts Gallery’s 2024 schedule. Upon review and acceptance, proposals may be awarded for one of the following slots:

Friday, Jan 5 - Saturday, Feb 24

Friday, April 5 - Saturday, May 18

Friday, June 7 - Saturday, July 20

Friday, Aug 2 - Saturday, Sept 14

Friday, Oct 4 - Saturday, Nov 16

The Gallery Committee prioritizes exhibition proposals: 1) that feature artworks or creative projects that have not been formally exhibited before, and 2) whose content shows potential for re-engagement, re-activation, or further exploration through public event(s) during the course of the show.

All proposals are accepted or denied based on the review of the Waterloo Arts Gallery Committee in consultation with the Gallery Coordinator. Upon reviewing, the committee may also counterpropose to pair artists together for group shows.

Please provide up to 10 images of specific works, or 3 min of video (include YouTube/Vimeo link in description box). If available, indicate title, medium, size, and year for each artwork included, and whether or not the work submitted may be the exact work exhibited. For video, performance, installation, social engagements, and new media, provide no more than 60 words of context for each piece.
