#UTSleepOut2018 St. Goerge will begin at 7PM on Friday, November 9th, 2018 at Youth Futures Shelter Home and end at 7AM Saturday morning. This event will raise homeless youth awareness by giving participants an opportunity to be subjected to the adverse weather conditions experienced by many homeless youth. At the #UTSleepOut2018 one-night event, your participation will raise awareness AND help raise funds to benefit Youth Futures programs and services. This is your opportunity to not only raise money but to also raise awareness to the issues facing homeless youth in Utah.The average low temperature on November 9th is 40 degrees Fahrenheit and you will be sleeping outside. Plan ahead to bring gear of your choice to keep warm such as: sleeping bags, blankets, hand warmers, boots, gloves, beanies and other necessary items. Sorry, cots and tents cannot be used at this event. Upon entry, you will receive a cardboard box to use for ground cover and to mark your sleeping area. We will be serving soup from 7:30-9PM and breakfast at 6AM. There will be water and hot beverages available in our “Warm Zone” throughout the event.All participants 12 to 17 years old will need a waiver signed by a parent or guardian and must be accompanied by an adult.
Come to the first planning meeting at the shelter at 340 E Tabernacle at 5:00pm on July 27th, 2018.
