PLAYA 2023 Residency Application

PLAYA offers 26, 12 or 5 day residencies, free of charge, to people working at the nexus of art and science.

You will need to complete the application and pay the $15 fee in one session. Once the application is started you will not be able to log back in to complete it.

Residency Date Preferences
Please choose your 1st, 2nd, and 3rd choices for residency dates. Only select dates in which you are able to attend the whole time. We will do our best but we can't guarantee first choices.
Work Samples- Please add a single shareable URL that links to a Dropbox folder, Vimeo album, Google Drive or other file share.
Please include 5-10 work samples. Literary Arts- no more than 10 pages total. Include samples that reflect your current direction, or proposed residency project. Choose any combination of images, audio files, slide deck, video, and/or text that will create a clear picture of your work for the jurors. Your samples will be evaluated on the quality of the work, how engaging, fresh or new the work is, and how successful the applicant is at communicating direction or purpose through the work. If applying as a collaborative team, all members must submit an application and the $15 fee. Indicate below the names of the collaborative partners and your specific needs for lodging and workspace.

Covid Safety
The safety of our residents, staff and community will continue to be of the highest priority and we will continue to operate following the most current CDC and Oregon Health Authority covid safety recommendations, which may include continuing to require vaccinations in 2023.
