Frequently Asked Questions:

  • What if I can't make it— will this workshop be recorded? No. The IEP Planning Party will not be recorded. This is a FREE, in-person event.
  • What if I don't have an IEP— I have a 2-year old with Down syndrome, will this workshop apply to me? This workshop will focus on school-aged children and will refer to language typically used during school-based IEP meetings. Your toddler with Down syndrome may likely be receiving Early Intervention Services and may have an Individualized Family Plan, and for this workshop the focus will be on a different set of resources typically used in the Delaware public school system.
  • My child's IEP is working well. Is this workshop for me? This workshop is a day-long planning party to help you be proactive and preventative. So there's always space for positive and productive planning conversations. Perhaps, you'll find it helpful to think ahead or take a deeper dive into one section of your child's IEP. This workshop is NOT a grip session or deep dive into what our kids CAN'T do. We already know our kids can do anything when given the right settings, models, and supports.
  • Will this workshop talk about high school transitions and post-secondary programs? There are several breakout groups planned inside this workshop. Please complete the accompanied survey after you've registered, so that breakout sessions are tailored to our group. However, this workshop will focus on school-aged children and will refer to language typically used during school-based IEP meetings. If your child has transitioned out of high school, this workshop is likely not for you.
