Dear friends and family of Trinity Catholic School.
I am excited to announce The Charles & Dolores Turner Commitment to Catholic Education Scholarship Fund at Trinity Catholic School in Spokane. The six Turner children are proud to establish this fund to honor their parent's commitment to Catholic education. Chuck and Dusty sacrificed personal luxuries so that all their children could have a quality education. All six graduated from Assumption, and the three oldest siblings, Laura, Beth, and Kathy graduated from Marycliff High School, while Matt, Christine, and Lou graduated from Gonzaga Prep.
Like the Turner children, it was quite common for children growing up Catholic in Spokane to attend one of the Catholic grade schools and one of the three high schools. However, generational factors, soaring tuition costs, and many more educational options have changed this trend over the last 25 years.
Chuck, deceased '11, and Dusty still believe that those who truly desire a Catholic education, and are committed to excellence in the classroom and community, should be able to experience what her children experienced, which is the opportunity to go to a school with dedicated teachers, principals, staff, and clergy who put the interest of children over self.
Chuck and Dusty valued a Catholic education for their children. This scholarship fund will help provide other families who want the same for their children just like Chuck and Dusty.
