VolunTeen Orientation September 22, 1:00-2:30 pm

VolunTeens are required to attend Teen Orientation, Teen Dog Basics, Teen Dog Lab, and Teen Cat Basics. After required courses are complete, VolunTeens can set their own schedule, and volunteer independently with support and guidance from SICSA's education team.

VolunTeen Information


Will be used to communicate changes in policy, recruitment for special projects, and upcoming teen events and training classes only. No solicitation, not shared with outside organizations.

Volunteens must be 13-17 years of age to participate. Volunteers 8-12 should apply to our Parent-Youth-Partners program.
Uniform provided includes one t-shirt, apron, and leash. Additional uniform shirts can be purchased for $10 each

Our program has been developed to meet the developmental needs and learning styles of teens, and is designed to set VolunTeens up for success volunteering independently. We provide additional opportunities to work with a peer mentor until new volunteers are comfortable. Individuals with significant difficulty working independently may be asked to participate in our Parent-Youth Partner volunteering opportunity for safety reasons.
