Helping One of Our Own
Fellow Rotarians and Friends of David Gross,
Our special Rotarian and friend, David Gross, has had a series of setbacks both with his health and his mobility. His specially-outfitted van was severely damaged in an accident a few months ago and the insurance company has determined the vehicle is a total loss. His special wheelchair was also damaged in the accident and supply chain issues are impeding its repair. David does have a backup wheelchair, but he is unable to get out, especially to his doctors.
There is also valuable and uninsured equipment on the van that needs to be removed by a certified technician before the van is turned over to the insurance company and his settlement check can be released.
In the short term, we would like to raise funds to provide financial support for the rental of a wheelchair-accessible van, initially for the next 30 days. This will also require that we have a few volunteer drivers. We will address insurance needs when we have our volunteer pool. We also want to provide financial assistance for the removal of the equipment on the van to complete the stalled settlement.
Our initial goal is to raise $7,500 to provide this much-needed support. Please give what you can and indicate if perhaps you would be willing to take a turn driving David to an appointment.
We have created a special account to receive funds through PayPal at the form below, but you may also mail a contribution to:
