Honeysuckle Jubilee Garden Celebration & Open House

Cumbe presents “Honeysuckle Jubilee,” a garden celebration and open house kicking off our incredible fall season offerings.  As we continue our celebration of Cumbe’s 10th anniversary we call upon the power of the honeysuckle flower which represents pure happiness. This flower embodies everything Cumbe is bringing to the community this season and into a new decade of pure joy!

Taking place outdoors in the beautiful garden of the Brooklyn Society for Ethical Culture and hosted by the incredible DJ Madam Vacille, we welcome you to a holistic healing experience through this one-of-a-kind celebration.  Enjoy the powerful healing sounds of the diaspora through an invigorating performance brought to you by Batalá NY: an all-women Afro-Brazilian percussion band and become inspired by the energizing movements featured in our demo classes: Dunham Jazz with Candice Franklin, JamDown: Caribbean Dance Fitness with JennyJam, and KongoBeats with Eto’o Tsana.

This beautiful celebration and open house is Cumbe’s introduction to our fall line up which includes the  Dance for Joy Series, a dance and performance workshop consisting of 8 ongoing classes between September 25 and December 3, ending with Fet Iajwa: a celebratory student showcase and holiday party on December 4th.  In addition to our Dance for Joy series be sure to check out our ongoing fall classes as well as Cumbe’s special workshops here.  We look forward to conjuring healing and joy with our amazing community as we look forward to the upcoming fall season.
