Your gift enables NAMI Illinois and our 20 local affiliates to be there when we're needed - with high-quality, cost-free education and support programs, stigma-busting awareness, powerful advocacy, and innovative strategic initiatives.   

By giving today, you are bringing hope where it is needed most.  Your support helps NAMI be the voice of home in communities across state. Over the last year, that support helped us....  

Grow the reach of our research-based NAMI Signature programs, including classes, support groups, and speaker programs. All programs are offered free of charge, delivered by trained volunteer facilitators who have experienced the same issues in their own lives. Your help allows us to train new facilitators to reach more people.

Expand outreach and virtual programming across Illinois. While our current programs touch more than 50,000 lives a year, tens of thousands go un-served.  Your gift not only supports virtual programming available to anyone in the state, it fuels our expanded efforts to bring NAMI into communities across Illinois.  

Build critical public support to monitor, weigh in, and advance public policies that support mental heath at the grassroots level, such as the Access to Mental Health Information Act, which gives families and caregivers better information and tools to care for loved ones with serious mental illness.  

Continue to grow our Justice, Equity, Diversity & Inclusion (JEDI) Initiative, building dozens of new relationships and creating innovative strategies to make quality mental health support the norm for every Illinoisan. It takes all of us to serve all of us!   

Educate hundreds at our statewide conferences and webinars.  Last year, A Healing State of Mind: From Crisis to Recovery for All virtual conference engaged over 300 people in 34 high quality workshops and keynotes sessions on critical mental health issues. Many of those workshops have sparked major new initiatives, like our pioneering new partnership to create a Community Health Worker training especially focused on mental health.
