Guidelines for a Rude Fusion Application

Call for Proposals and Expressions of Interest Guidelines

1. Each year Rude Mechs will co-produce at least two independent performance works.

2. Proposals can be for the presentation of existing or newly created performance works.

3. Performances may range from from one day/night to four weeks.

4. Projects must be primarily live performance-based.

RUDE MECHS ENCOURAGES

1. imaginative use of available space

2. innovative approaches to the development and presentation of live performance work

3. artists who blur artforms and genres

4. diversity of arts practice and cultures

PROPOSALS ACCEPTED ARE PROVIDED

1. Venue – up to 3 weeks of free rehearsal space for production (if available)

2. Publicity (no marketing provided) - including website presence, social media presence and at least one e-blast

3. Ticketing Services - you keep box office receipts minus credit card and ticketing processing fees until costs recouped (see below)

4. Box Office and Front of House Personnel

5. Mentorship (if desired)

6. Materials in our stock of light, sound, video gear and costumes (if available)

RUDE MECHS DOES NOT ASSIST WITH THE COSTS OF

1. Production (fees, design materials / construction, performance venue selection or rental)

2. Personnel

3. Workers compensation or General Liability Insurance (applicant must provide proof of general liability)

4. Personal or property insurances

5. There is a box office split commensurate with mutually agreed upon budgets of both parties. Applicant will recoup costs first.

PROPOSAL – must be submitted as pdf and attached to this form

The first stage involves writing a maximum of two pages covering the following points:

1. Project description

2. Working Methodology (how will you work and who will you work with)

3. Artistic influences underpinning your project

4. Names of key artistic personnel and very brief biographical summary for each artist

5. Name/s of producer/producing team (this is essential for individual artists)

6. Time Required in Venue (for eg. one day/evening, one week, two weeks)

7. Proposed Budget

8. Contact Information

9. You will receive acknowledgement of receipt of your proposal by email.

10.Short-listed applicants will then be asked to come in for more detailed discussion.
