The Fall Equinox marks the beginning of the year’s transition into autumn. Nature’s cycles remind us of a grander story in which we all take part. The cycle of the year offers us an ongoing story of change and transition that is mirrored in our lives as women.
As the days begin to shorten and the darkness grows longer, it is a time for reaping the harvest of summer’s bounty, for slowing down and getting ready to settle in. It is also a perfect invitation for us to gather the wisdom of our own lives, to notice the places of transition, and to feast together on the goodness that comes from sharing our bounty with others.
WHY STORYTELLING?
There is power in story telling. There is power and goodness when we own the truth of our own stories and offer that truth into community. Life is full of great change. The difficult energies stirred by change evoke fear and resistance. Yet, moving toward the very things we want to avoid is the path we must walk to glean the wisdom and growth offered in transitions of all sorts. Through sharing bits of our own stories and receiving the wisdom and authenticity of other women’s stories, we discover that we can see ourselves in one another. We are all connected in the universal struggle to grow the challenges of life and hold onto hope when things seem to be falling apart!
