How Do I Stay Calm?

Did you know that the ability to calm and quiet oneself is the number one predictor of long-term mental health? The good news is that this is a skill that can be learned and sharpened with practice.
 
Join author and THRIVEtoday President, Chris Coursey, for this 3 hour training on Skill 2 - Soothing Myself. Learn the theory behind this skill and why it is so crucial for your emotional and mental health. You will discover how to assess your own ability to quiet and how to become more aware of when you need to quiet. Finally, you will come away with tools for identifying and troubleshooting problems along the way.
 
This event will include three sessions with 10 minute breaks in between. Each session will include an exercise that you will be able to practice/discuss in breakout groups.
 
  • Session 1: Quieting; what is it and why do I need it? Learn theory and reasons why you need this skill.  
  • Session 2: There is Hope. How do I improve my ability to rest and catch my breath? 
  • Session 3: Troubleshooting. Overcoming barriers to resting and feeling restored.

If you are attending solo, we will add you to a breakout room with other attendees. Or you can encourage friends from various locations to register and request to be placed in a breakout room together. Groups of 3 are ideal.

Please Note: A recording will be emailed within a few days of this event for those of you who are not able to attend live. You will have access to this recording for three weeks.
