Dr. Floden will speak on the phylogenetic studies of Trillium, using images from field and garden grown plants. Numerous molecular phylogenetic projects will be covered, including the overall phylogeny of Trillium, subgeneric classification, and then a focus on the sessile species of subg. Sessilia (formerly Phyllantherum) and subg. Trillium. The recent changes of classification, novel species, and distribution will be covered, and new questions that have arisen because of the results will be briefly discussed.
