You Will Submit

You typed the last words of your story, poem, or essay … and you should rightly celebrate. Then the question: Now what? Join two authors as they discuss the nuts and bolts of submitting your manuscript for publication. From final edits to researching potential journals, from submitting your work to the right journals to decoding rejections and acceptances, find out what to do now that you’ve got a finished manuscript. 

Instructor: Brian Petkash is the author of Mistakes by the Lake (Madville Publishing) a collection of stories centered around Cleveland. His award-winning stories have appeared in Midwestern Gothic and Southword, among other publications.

R. Dean Johnson is the author of a story collection, Delicate Men (Alternative Book Press) and a novel, Californium (Plume-Penguin). His essays and stories have appeared in AscentCimarron ReviewHawai'i Pacific ReviewNatural BridgeNew Orleans ReviewSliceThe Southern Review, and elsewhere. He lives in Kentucky with his family and directs Eastern Kentucky University's low-res MFA in Creative Writing program, Bluegrass Writers Studio.
