Supporting LGBTQ+ Youth in Schools & Communities (3 contact hours)
Wondering what you can do to support the LGBTQ youth and help them build resiliency? Wondering how to reduce bullying and harassment? What does the terminology mean/ How to use gender-neutral pronouns? How to support the youth you work with who are transitioning or questioning?
Best Practices for Working with LGBTQ+ Youth and Families While Navigating Ethical Challenges (7 contact hours)
This training, with 7 contact hours, is designed for professionals working with youth and families over time including in-patient/out patient, community-based offices and private practices. It strengthens professional capacity to work affirmatively with these youth; builds an understanding of the challenges, risks and protective factors for these young people; and explores the ethical challenges in negotiating the youth/family dynamics. Attendees will leave with tips and resources for working more effectively with these youth and their families.
