At Red Wolf Sanctuary, we warmly welcome volunteers and interns! Both volunteer and intern positions entail the same responsibilities, but interns may be eligible for University credit.
As an intern or volunteer, you will be expected to assist with all necessary tasks, even if they fall outside of your personal interests. These tasks may include animal care, rehabilitation efforts, horticulture, enclosure maintenance and construction, meal preparation, cleaning, groundskeeping, education, and more. Once a volunteer or intern has completed 20 hours of service, they may have the opportunity to assist with animal care, subject to Staff approval and under the supervision of a staff member.
Kindly take note that our internship and volunteer opportunities are unpaid. Candidates should possess the capability to lift up to 50 lbs and endure prolonged standing and exertion as needed. It is crucial to consider that interns and volunteers may face different weather conditions while working. Additionally, the minimum age requirement for volunteering/interning with us is 18 years old.
Don't be discouraged from applying if you're not familiar with the tasks or lack prior experience. We are a training center dedicated to providing career exposure through internships and volunteer work. Moreover, we aim to raise awareness about conservation, ecology, and environmental science.
Red Wolf Sanctuary holds no obligation to accept any prospective intern or volunteer, despite the completion of the application, and reserves the right to terminate an Intern/Volunteer position at any time, at their discretion.
