Cathy Jurist served Baltimore City Schools for 20 years, in a variety of roles including special education teacher, Child Find representative, and mostly on non-public team. After leaving City Schools, Ms. Jurist joined Kennedy Krieger’s vital therapeutic day program. Following her retirement from KKI, the Maryland State Department of Education sought her deep and broad expertise to support MSDE’s work in quality assurance and compliance, and then the non-public department. For the past eight years, Ms. Jurist has been the PEN liaison to the Orthodox Jewish community. She has two children and four grandchildren.
