Here in Sonoma County, so many of us live in fear of suddenly having to evacuate our homes when a forest fire threatens. With the fire season growing from four to eight months, this year could be no different.
We may feel defenseless, but there is something we can do together. We can build a firewall at Alliance Redwoods Conference Grounds. We will clear brush, thin trees and turn the fuel that has accumulated over the years into wood chips for roads, nature trails and into compost nourishment for our established redwood trees.
But to do this, we need your help today. The most important piece of equipment we need is a chipper that can handle big branches – 12” or more in diameter. It’s a machine that costs $40,000 and it will help us for years to come. Thank you for supporting us by helping fund this important equipment!
