Draw! Write! Act!

Guest Creative: Becki Gerrard

July 8-12 from 9:00AM-4:00PM (before and after care is available)

Draw! Write! Act! Is a week-long camp in which campers will conceive a show from top to bottom. Write a script, build the set, act out the performance! Not an actor? That’s ok! We’ll learn how to do the many necessary jobs that make a play come together. Campers will have the opportunity to try all the parts of performance making and delve deeper into the topics that spark their creativity. Paint sets, make props, design costumes; you can try it all!

SPACE INVADERS!

Guest Creative: Trevor Stone

July 15-20 from 9:00AM-4:00PM (before and after care is available)

Outer space aliens are coming!  We must build new communication devices to try and talk with them.  Maybe we need alien costumes to blend in and hide, in case they want to take over Earth.  Should we build a spaceship and evacuate? Let’s map out a new underground city where people can live safely until we complete our robot army to take back planet Earth!  And if they are friendly space aliens... then it’s going to be a great party!

How to be an Artist

Guest Creative: Lisa Voelker

July 22-29 9:00AM-4:00PM (before and after care is available)

The whole world is your gallery, let's fill it with art! We’ll discuss what steps are necessary to make public art like murals and installations, we’ll create a public mural at  Riverside Arts Center, and build open sculptures for the whole community to enjoy. Street art has a long history of having a style to meet everyone’s taste from activists to celebrities. Campers will explore and try traditional and edgy styles like temporary graffiti, guerilla printmaking and developing flash mobs. Let's take it to the streets!
