The DANA Vineyard is composed of 26 vines directly descended from the mother vine at Mission San Gabriel. It’s thought to be the largest non-commercial Mission Grape Vineyard in California. Many thanks to the San Luis Obispo Wine History Project for the support and tremendous efforts in pulling the expertise together to make this project become a reality.
But we need your help. While the wall protecting the vines is built, it’s not complete. The three sets of historic willow gates have yet to be built, the 300 square foot pergola for special events and the public to enjoy has not been designed, and a small endowment to help cover the ongoing cost of the vineyard has not been raised.
DANA is providing the first 26 donors contributing $2,000 or more the opportunity to permanently endow a grapevine. The gift will provide $500 for construction expenses and $1,500 toward the vineyard endowment. If you are not able to help us at this time, a donation of $1,000, $500, $250, $100, $50 or whatever you can give will help finish this beautiful project and be a showplace for decades to come. The vineyard will be a sanctuary and inspiration for the thousands of annual visitors and a stunning backdrop for photography and events.
Thank you for continuing to enjoy, support, and enhance the beautiful Dana Rancho!
