The act of self-expression through art can serve as a vehicle for deepening our own self-awareness and understanding. Art helps us to listen to the wisdom of our deepest selves.
Come play with color, image, form, and shape as we learn to enjoy the process of creating, and listen to our own lives through art making.
Whether you consider yourself an artist or not, this workshop is designed for you. Using the questions and desires of our own deepest selves as inspiration, we’ll be creating Wisdom Cards through simple watercolor and collage. The invitation is to the creative process rather than the outcome. It’s about showing up and letting go of expectations. It’s about openness, grace and curiosity. Couldn’t we all use a little more of that?
WHY ART?
In a culture addicted to performance and productivity, it is easy to lose touch with our creative selves. Art is the language of the soul—image, form, and color speak of truths deeper than surface knowledge and pat responses. The creative process is non-linear and exploratory, much like the spiritual life. By making space to create, we are also listening to our deeper experience and being present to whatever wants to emerge from within. Art helps to cultivate playfulness and freedom, increasing our overall sense of wellbeing.
