Info Session: Metropolitan Development (HUD, CD and Homelessness Initiatives)

Hello Neighbors!

Each year the City of Indianapolis receives approximately $25,000,000 in federal housing and community development grants from the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

These funds can be used for affordable housing, community development, and homelessness response initiatives, and are most often deployed through the City’s community-based non-profit partners.

This presentation, led by The City of Indianapolis Department of Metropolitan Development on July 16th at 6 PM, aims to help neighbors better understand the affordable housing industry.

 Highlights of the presentation include:

    • A summary of HUD federal grants
    • An overview of affordable housing financing
    • A discussion of how these programs enforce affordability and ensure that these programs serve the intended populations
    • An overview of the Continuum of Care, the coordinated homelessness response system within Indianapolis
    • And more!
