The ClimateTech Speaker Series is a joint initiative between the ClimateTech Incubator at Northeastern University's Roux Institute and E2Tech and is sponsored by the Maine Governor's Energy Office.
Join us on Thursday, September 12th from 8:30-9:30 am at Eaton Peabody, 100 Middle St, Portland AND via Zoom for a fascinating presentation and discussion on the role of space science in clean energy, artificial intelligence, and satellite-derived data in planning and adapting for climate change.
Our speaker is
Dr. Terry Shehata, the Executive Director of the
Maine Space Grant Consortium and Interim ED of the Maine Space Corporation, a quasi-independent state entity established by the Maine Legislature to manage the development of the Maine Space Complex. With his 35+ years in economic development and research infrastructure building, he is one of the leaders behind efforts to support the development and growth of the sector. He helped convene more than 250 people for last year's inaugural Maine Space Conference, and the
2024 conference will be held October 23-25.
This hybrid event will provide an informative discussion on relationships between satellite imagery and space data and clean energy, including planning for solar arrays, power lines, wind energy, and other cleantech products and services that reduce negative environmental impacts through the adoption of clean energy and energy efficiency technologies, energy efficiency improvements or retrofits, the sustainable use of resources, or environmental conservation and protection activities.
Participants will receive the Zoom link a day before the event.
