2023 Hillel Birthright Recruitment Fellow Application

Who we are looking for: We are looking for 4-5 student leaders who are enthusiastic, responsible, passionate, organized, friendly, engaging, and dedicated. Birthright Recruitment Fellows will engage students and encourage May 2023 Birthright registration.

What is a Hillel Birthright Recruitment Fellow?  Birthright Recruitment Fellows (Fellows) will be responsible for engaging students eligible for Birthright and securing their completed Birthright registration. Additionally, Fellows have the opportunity to staff a bus for the upcoming Birthright season*. This position is for the Winter 2023 semester ONLY

*If the Fellow is 21+ and if there is a student staff spot available

Application Process: Below you will find a short description of the role followed by application questions.  In addition to this application, there will be a 20-30 minute Q&A with Allison, our Israel Immersive Experiences Coordinator, to determine your eligibility.  Information about how to schedule your interview will be sent to you after you submit your application. 

 

Birthright Recruitment Fellows Description

Birthright Recruitment Fellows (Fellows) is a PAID opportunity in which Fellows are responsible for recruiting eligible students for Michigan Hillel's May 2023 Birthright Trip. Fellows are expected to recruit at least 10 unique students for a base stipend of $250. For each student recruited beyond the initial 10, Fellows will receive $20/student in compensation for up to 10 additional studnets (ex. 5 more students = extra $100). Fellows will document their unique students and the first Fellow to document AND make sure the student registered for Birthright will count as part of their goal. Fellows are also expected to promote Michigan Hillel’s Birthright trip to specific communities (i.e., Greek chapter, student group, intramural team, etc.) they're involved in. Fellows will meet individually with Allison weekly to go through who they've registered, recruitment strategies, and next steps. Fellows may be responsible for more tasks as the Birthright trip gets closer. 

Fellows must recruit at least 10 unique eligible students in order to receive the $250 stipend

To be eligible for this position, applicants must commit to joining Michigan Hillel’s spring trip for the upcoming season OR are an alumni of a previous Michigan Hillel Birthright trip OR are ineligible due to previous Israel experience. 

Fellows will also have the opportunity to lead a May 2023 trip IF there are spots available and they are over 21 years old.
