As part of the 2024 Rhododendron Festival, the City of Beckley is partnering with the West Virginia Land Trust on a Waterfall Wednesday hike at Piney Creek Preserve! The date is May 15 with the rain date of May 22.
Piney Creek Preserve is part of the larger Beckley Outdoors – Outdoor Economy Action Plan. The West Virginia Land Trust is working with the City of Beckley to open the Piney Creek Preserve to the public with support from donors and volunteers. Plans for this 613-acre preserve include 20 miles of recreation trails nestled along coal seams on historic mine benches as well as a short walk down to two beautiful waterfalls!
While there is no fee to participate, registration is strongly encouraged for planning purposes. (We will contact you with last minute details and changes.)
