One moment please...

2024 Rock County Stream Monitoring Training

Saturday, May 11th

9:00 AM - 3:00 PM

Clinton, WI

WELCOME TO OUR SIGN UP PAGE!

Do you live by a stream or river? Looking for a way to protect water near you? Once a month, from May to October, our volunteer stream monitors in Rock County collect data vital to understanding the health of our streams across the Rock River Basin. Data is used by entities involved in the management of our streams and rivers in the Rock River Basin to enhance watershed management decision-making.

Anyone interested in volunteering or learning more is welcome to attend our Rock County workshop! By the end of this workshop, you'll know how to measure water quality and be ready to adopt your own stream monitoring site. No experience or materials needed!

Want More Info Before Signing Up? Contact our Stream Monitoring Coordinator Lizzy Reitzloff at lizzy@rockrivercoaltion.org with questions or visit our "Becoming a Volunteer Stream Monitor" page.

Information submitted through this form will not be shared with anyone outside of the Rock River Coalition without permission. Once you sign up, you will receive a follow-up email with further details for preparing for the day of training.

Rock River Coalition is committed to fostering an inclusive environment and ensuring that all people feel welcome, respected, and supported. All are invited to attend our programs, and we welcome any feedback about how we can make our programs and organization more accessible, inclusive, and equitable.

This is recommended before attending the in-person training. You can find the introduction at: https://canvas.wisc.edu/courses/172203/pages/an-introduction-to-water-action-volunteers-wav?module_item_id=1884576.

We will meet indoors at an ADA-accessible location, but we will spend much of the training outdoors in a park setting (rain or shine, except in extreme weather). We will walk short distances across grass (~200 feet). You will be invited but not required to enter the stream. If you may find these activities challenging, we may be able to provide an alternative, modification, or other accommodations.
