Demo Set: Pitchers, Darts and Pleats, Two-Part Forms, Wheel-thrown Lidded Boxes

Class Description:

Intro to Wheel Throwing 2:D offers students an opportunity to build upon wheel-throwing fundamentals and explore new forms and techniques. This eight-week class features instructor demonstrations, hands-on learning and available Open Studio time outside of regular scheduled classes. Demonstrations will include, pulling or attaching spouts to pouring vessels and altering forms with pleats and darts. Relationships between parts will be explored by combining multiple thrown forms and students will learn a technique for creating wheel-thrown lidded boxes. This class is suitable for a variety of skill levels, however previous experience with Intro to Wheel Throwing I or equivalent is required.

The Dairy Barn Arts Center does not issue refunds for classes and workshops unless said class or workshop is cancelled by the Dairy Barn. If a class or workshop is cancelled by the Dairy Barn, you may either request a refund, or have your payment credited to future events such as classes, workshops, or camps. Winter Weather note: If The Athens County Sheriff declares a level 3 snow emergency that hasn't lifted before noon, classes and workshops at the Dairy Barn that day may be cancelled. If classes are cancelled, we will post to facebook and attempt to reach participants via email or phone. However, If the weather is bad, we advise participants to call ahead and confirm that the Barn is open.

For participants under the age of 18: I (name above) as the participant's legal guardian give permission for my child to participate in this Dairy Barn workshop or class and corresponding activities. In case of accident or serious illness, I request that I be contacted. I give permission for emergency medical treatment and to be transferred to the nearest medical facility.
