SCLT invites the community to a unique screening of the film "Who She Is" as a part of November's American Indian Heritage Month at Sheridan College. A panel discussion will follow with Jordan Dresser and Sophie Barksdale, co-producers/co-directors.
"Who She Is" tells the story of four individual women caught in the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women (MMIW) epidemic. By bringing these missing women to life on screen, through animation and first-person storytelling, the documentary aims to humanize the people behind the statistics. Audiences will learn each woman's loves and losses and will come to know their story. Through these women, the documentary shines a light on the wider MMIW epidemic and gendered violence in Wyoming and beyond.
When: Thursday, November 21 @ 7 pm. The program will conclude between 8:30 and 9 pm.
Where: Kinnison Hall @ the Whitney Center for Performing Arts at Sheridan College.
This unique film screening is free to attend and open to all. Sponsored by the Sheridan Community Land Trust and the Wyoming Humanities Council.
