Along with Fitzgerald, Sinclair Lewis was one of the Minnesota literary giants of the 1920s. His novel, "Main Street" was Lewis’s not so favorable view of small town life America based on his childhood in Sauk Centre, Minnesota. In Sauk Centre, you will tour Lewis’s boyhood home and see the original Main Street. Dave Simkens, publisher of the Sauk Centre Herald, will discuss his research for his book, "On Becoming Sinclair Lewis." Lunch is included with the tour and will be at the Palmer House, which Lewis used as the model for the "Minniemashie House."
Bus departs the conference hotel at 8 am and returns at approximately 5 p.m. Some walking may be part of the tour.
