The Bijou Theatre is more than a historic landmark; it’s a vital cultural asset for our community – creating a gathering place for all, developing a platform for arts of all kinds, and preserving a touchstone of Knoxville’s long, storied history – while building a vibrant and diverse future for the arts in Knoxville.

However, the Bijou is a jewel that cannot be taken for granted. The Bijou needs your support now more than ever to continue to survive and thrive for our community. In response to the pandemic, we closed our doors on March 13th and suspended all programming until further notice. As a result, we have no means for earning revenue, and even with the lights off, the Bijou carries more than $30,000 in overhead each month.
